@loki6260 no prob. i myself am a rookie at the new android ui (used to be with the iphone but got bored of it) basically rooting has a benefit of jailbreaking but there are many issues such as battery drain. basically i have videos on my profile where i show people how to get free paid apps and how to increase the speed of android (even though its fast enough).

I appreciate your help man. This is going to be my first Android phone ever (currently a Blackberry user) Therefore I am completely a “rookie” to the whole Android market..LOL…I was wondering and wanted to ask what exactly is a “rooted device”? Why is it done?and what are it’s Pros and Cons? thanks again bro
July 20th, 2011 - 15:24
@loki6260 i thought the same but nothing happened when i used it (like there wasnt a bill for it)

@Sikh4Life94 Thanks for your help bro…Im going to go out and buy a Mytouch 4G and hopefully I can do the same as you and not get charged for wifi tethering. (because I have just read online about being charged for it but wasn’t sure if it was true)

July 20th, 2011 - 16:07
@loki6260 yea if u root the device but when i use my mytouch 4g i just use the regular tethering app and i dont get charged anything.

Hey is there something similar to this for the mytouch 4G (Android 2.2) without using the preloaded app that t-mobile has installed (Which costs $14.99/month) to do the same function for free? Thanks in advanced for your help
