Is a linksys g wifi adapter compatible with a netgear modem?
Also, would either a netgear or a linksys wifi adapter be compatible with the xbox, while using a netgear modem?

As long as both the card and router support Wireless G service then yes. Wireless G is a standard shared by all manufacturers and should work from one type to another. Just be careful when setting up the security it is very touchy about caps and spelling.
