You no longer have to boot up your notebook or laptop to check for a wireless signal. This keychain scans a radius of 50 meters (165 feet) to detect the presence and strength of wifi 802.11b/g signals. Push the center button and wait a few seconds for the scanning. If no signal is detected, a red light will show. If a single green light shows, there is a weak signal present. If three green lights show, there's a strong signal.
