@lccs187 Alright, you’re right, I’m sorry. I just put an annotation up at the beginning of video. Let me know if its okay.
October 24th, 2010 - 13:30
@ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy if you took the time responding to my comments and made annotations, they would be up.
October 24th, 2010 - 14:29
@lccs187 Long enough that I don’t want to do it. I have so many videos, and I also have a life. Appeasing you isn’t my top priority.
October 24th, 2010 - 14:30
@ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy what does it take less that 2 minutes to make an annotation? or something in the more info?
October 24th, 2010 - 15:08
@lccs187 No sir, you fail at realizing I have 400 videos, and in no way, shape, or form could I update videos that are more than half a year old.

One of the best reasons to JB your iPhone. It’s 20 bucks, but it’s worth more than it’s weight in anything on the Apple App Store.

October 24th, 2010 - 23:25
@soccalova09 It depends which part of the world you are located in. On ATT in the US, no… It doesn’t cost extra money.

Android Phone Does not Support ad hoc is there any way to creat a wifi acess point like router
i am using
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
October 25th, 2010 - 00:46
Hmm, I haven’t tried it yet. What confuses me the most was ad-hoc setting for windows. I think it should be set to infrastructure. Looks like this guy is MAC guy lol
October 25th, 2010 - 01:25
@wnydoron You can’t also use wii, xbox, etc etc. I have to agree, Access point and Ad-hoc are 2 different things.
It’s not a matter of if it works as if it was almost the same, the fact is that it is not and this just show how illiterate is cnet.
October 25th, 2010 - 02:00

this guys an idiot
thats the easest thing to do ever but i wont know how to connect to a laptop that is using wifi to connect to the inter net
October 25th, 2010 - 05:04
hm, my itouch connected to it but when i open safari it says no connection to internet. I have a toshiba nb205 running windows xp. If anyone knows what’s wrong let me know. Thanks. I also try the cnet troubleshooting.
October 25th, 2010 - 05:31
@wnydoron The very valid point is that “access point” has a specific technical meaning that doesn’t apply to what you show in this video. When someone needs to create an actual access point, this procedure won’t do what they need.
Secondly, WEP has turned out to be no better than no encryption. You really should warn people that this encryption is trivially broken instead of giving them a false sense of security.
It is a good video except for those two issues, which you really ought to fix.
October 25th, 2010 - 05:41
Holy shit windows actually made something simple!! :OOO
October 25th, 2010 - 05:46

@BruceStuntz71 How did that happen ……i think i can help maybe you have to make another network.what kind of router do you have??????????
October 25th, 2010 - 06:00
hey will this work if im looking for an access point on my dsi..i have been trying to connect my dsi to internet for a long time ever since my internet on it stopped now i cant play some games online anymore
October 25th, 2010 - 06:59
@wnydoron I didn’t mean that it does not work … I only told you that what you presented is how to create an Ad-Hoc network ( and share the Internet connection through that ) and not how to set a computer as an AP.
)
So…I only said that the name of your video is misleading for someone looking for seting their computer as an AP ( as I did
PS: My last phrase was wrong .. I meant to said that we had an ad-hoc configuration at home to which the phone did not connect
October 25th, 2010 - 07:41
@yoyocomputer123 – As said here in the posting we did not make this video contact Cnet.com for details or help.
October 25th, 2010 - 08:10
@adrianahava – well it works perfect on all mine, and thousands of others.
October 25th, 2010 - 09:02
I’ll have to disagree. What you’ve presented is not setting a computer as an Access Point. Having a computer as an Access Point implies having an infrastructure mode.
What you are presenting is Ad-Hoc mode. Is very different.
I’m telling this because we had an actual infrastructure configuration at home and the Android phone couldn’t connect to it because it accepts to connect only to a infrastructure configuration and not to a ad-hoc network.

wow! this vid is really amazing! i can now access my ipod from my laptop. you’re a GENIUS!!! thanks!!!!
October 25th, 2010 - 10:49
@angelais15 When your setting it up, at the part where it asks for Adhoc and other options, I think you have to choose Infrastructure) Ex. 1:10 (2nd Option) 3:32 (2nd Option too)
October 25th, 2010 - 11:25
ok i have a prob…when i press the check box that says “Allow other network users to connect through computers internet connection” and then press OK ….. a error window pop up—–> “Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP adressthat is required for automatic IP adressing”……… any ideas why ?
