Q&A: Why doesn’t WiFi Trak work on my iTouch 3.0 update?

Question by dmartinfunny: Why doesn't WiFi Trak work on my iTouch 3.0 update?
It used to work but ever since I got the update, it doesn't work. When I open it up, it says, "Error Could not properly initialize the WiFi scanner." What can I do to fix it? Does anyone else have this problem?

i updated my dad's ipod to the 3.0 and we have the same problem. I did some research and noticed that there is no options for push notifications in the settings.

Not sure if this is related, but it might be.

The connection is obviously not the problem since you can connect through settings; so my best guess is that wifitrak is NOT currently compatible for the 3.0 firmware.

I think the best thing to do at the moment is wait for an update from wifitrak.

-EDIT-

I just checked on the wifitrak's website. As i suspected they are not compatible with the 3.0 software. They submitted a request for an upgrade to apple, which apparently has been delayed due to many applications with the same problem. This problem should be fixed soon anyways.

This is from their website :

I upgraded to OS 3.0 and now I get an error on startup. What can I do?

WifiTrak 2.5 does not support OS 3.0. We submitted an update to Apple after testing with their final pre-release version and it is currently going through their review process. With so many Apps in the store and many of them needing a compatibility update, it appears to be taking longer than normal. We are trying to be patient here and we ask that you do the same.

  1. I experience the same problem on both my iPhones that run 3.0. One is a 3G and the other is a 3G S. It must be an incompatibility problem, which I hope they wll reslove soon with an update.
