800mW Outdoor Wi-Fi Access Point/Repeater/Client/Bridge

  • 800mW Outdoor Wi-Fi bi-directional transmitter with or without built-in antenna
  • Fully programmable with 5 levels of power settings, WEP,WPA, WPA-PSK security
  • multiple SSIDs, Power over Ethernet with everything included for ease of installation
  • including 80' cat5 cable, poe injector, power supply, mounting kit, disc
  • line of sight range, point to point of 2-5 miles.

This is an outstanding wifi transmitter with or without antenna, and up to 800mW of transmit power. Choose from a unit with the built in 15dBi gain flat panel antenna, or the "N" model where you can use any antenna for a variety of coverage areas and transmit distance.

One of our On-Site tests yielded 11MBPS connection speed at a distance of 1450 feet using a 12 db gain (2412P) antenna, an 802.11b - 11MBPS router and a standard Dell laptop. We would have had more throughput using an 802.11g router.

Broadcom Sees the Linuxy Light at Last
Good things come to those who wait, as the saying goes, and recently the Linux community had occasion to observe a vivid illustration close to home. Specifically, after years of ill repute as one of the primary wireless chipmakers that didn't support Linux, Broadcom on Monday showed the community some love.

  3. how much is it??

  4. DUDE!!! This Is Awesome!!!!

  5. Nice project but why a second serials? i thought 1 is only needed

  6. Coooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  7. no i dont think u can control this from anywhere in the world.

  8. Where did you take that robot ? And can you control it from anywhere in the world ?

  9. For the flip over thing… Just add a Arm or something to flip it back over,,

  10. yes. As long as it keeps the same IP Address.. and someone doesn’t decide to steal it. :P

  11. wow nice work men,i am at the last year computer engineering, and i want to make my graduation project this one,can you help me please?

  12. From what i understand.. with RC cars, digital controllers enable you to have more precise control of the thing, over just, “Stop, reverse, and Go”

  13. ta potem michalski popierdala z routerem na takim

  14. Can you put that anywhere on the world that has a wifi point and then go in a different country and control it from another wifi point?

  15. sam, he said it looks for open access points, so it would seem as long as he can jump from router to router he can keep going. Needs GPS locator, ha.

  16. Now that’s cool….and it doesn’t cost $5,000 like the 914 PC-BOT. You’ve gotta love the WRT54G router for their ability to be modified.

It does still suffer the same fate as most R/C cars…they flip over sometimes…and go down sewers…………and get run over by larger cars.

  17. Impressive :)

  18. get a gas powered one

  19. hmmm i saw this on hack a day but how can you control it via the internet, doesnt it need a modem connected to the router because it is only a router

  20. Only 1 serial port is needed. It’s not much work to add a second one, so I did. I also used the second one for debugging the software. Now that’s it’s debugged, you don’t need to worry about that though.

  21. From what I’ve read about hacking these, the contacts for both serial ports are usually next to each other. So it’s easier to use a single 10 pin mount and just do both serial ports at once.

  22. cool Im trying to build my own right now, I just dont get it why did you add 2 serials? when you only need 1?

  25. surely you mean more analogue?

  26. 100,00th view!!!!!!!!

  27. its “root”. password is “admin”. however, i think that you can leave the username empty..

  28. Does this router works with xbox live?
And whats the diffrnce between WRT54G and WRT54GL (L=Linux)? Plz help.

  29. i cant understand what the username is… can some1 say it pleas, i need it very hard!

  30. So cool my rooter with the custom firmware

  31. i have this router and it looks like shit but it really workes really well!!!

  33. What’s that jazz song playing at the begining of the video?

  34. Hmmmm, I’m from Australia and that doesn’t sound like a NZ accent…. maybe she spent a few years in Scandanavia….

  35. The reccomended router to use for HotSpot System is Linksys WRT54GL, any version can be used (1.0 or 1.1) but obviously the 1.1 version has slight hardware fixes from Linksys though the main difference was the firmware version which in our case does not matter because we are replacing it with DD-WRT.

Just a note, version 1.0 of the router has two rows of LED’s and 1.1 has one row (less LEDs), people commonly get confused when they see two images of the same router.

  37. i would like to charge people for using my wifi, as i live in an apartment building in manhatten. will i get the money from this, or will hotspotsystem get the money? if they get the money, does anybody know how i can get paid?!?!

  38. Videos have been updated for those who are using DD-WRT v24.

  39. For those who asked: the girl is from New Zealand, that’s why she has this accent.

  40. works perfect by the way cool setup music

  41. thanks for your videos they are great for wirelless isp is the Linksys WRT54G router the best to buy?is it the best model or there other moder under the same name- how much clients can connect to this wireless router ? there a lot of linkys model much better faster and long range distance why to chose this one-there -you cant change the antenna inside its incorporated-i have done 270 km wifi connection range in the middle east with 2 satellites dish no amplifier used thanks brother

  42. The default Linksys firmware username/password is admin/admin. The username and password for DD-WRT changes to root/admin after install.

    Just a note.
